Owen Welcomes Wind Farm Victory

Owen Paterson was delighted to hear the news that the Planning Inspectorate had today dismissed the appeals by Nuon to build a wind farm at Bearstone near Market Drayton.

Owen performed the opening of the Cockshutt Fete on Saturday. He also judged the best picture in the Playgroup section. The prize was awarded to Mary Wilson for her picture of a butterfly.

Orthopaedic Hospital Summer Day and Fete

Owen visited the Summer Fair and Open Day at the RJ & AH Orthopaedic Hospital on Saturday. The event was organised by the League of Friends.

Whitchurch Cricket Club Opening

Owen joined the High Sheriff of Shropshire, Anna Turner, Whitchurch Town Mayor, Cllr Alan Chesters and Club Treasurer Don Pearce at the official opening of the improvements to Whitchurch Cricket Club on Saturday.

Harmer Hill Village Hall Re-opens

Owen visited Harmer Hill Village Hall on Friday to help local residents celebrate its reopening. With a grant from the Big Lottery Fund the Harmer Hill Village Hall Management Committee have transformed the hall from a tired and leaking building into a wonderful community facility.

Traffic Problems at Llynclys

Owen recently visited representatives of Llanyblodwel Parish Council with Cllr Arthur Walpole and Cllr John Everall last week to discuss the traffic problems in the local area.

Melverley Post Issue Resolved

After a number of constituents, led by Ray Walsh, reported that at times of flood, Royal Mail cease to deliver mail to more remote areas of the village, Owen corresponded with the Royal Mail for some time.
